‘Education is the most powerful weapon you can use to change the world’
In Year 3, we aim to meet the educational needs and expectations of our pupils and aspire to provide those opportunities needed to develop their full potential. We ensure that we develop children’s spiritual, moral, social and cultural understanding through our PSHE programme. We promote the fundamental British values of Democracy, Rule of Law, Individual Liberty and Mutual Respect and Tolerance of those with different faiths and beliefs
Aims:
-Understand that everyone has the opportunity to excel and flourish in their learning
-Nurture through respect, honesty and tolerance in a safe and challenging educational environment
-Involve children, parents, teachers, governors and the community to ensure that everyone is working in partnership
-Quality teaching to help all children achieve their potential
-Utilise skills to promote independence and resilience that will secure a positive future for our children
-Embrace the principle that every child matters
We also work alongside parents and others to meet their needs to help support every child to reach their full potential. With these intentions in mind, we are fully committed to the aims outlined in the Year 3 as stated above
In Year 4, we value that all children are exceptional and different individuals. We aim to provide a creative and challenging curriculum that inspires future thinkers, innovators and problem solvers in an immersive environment that stimulates and supports high quality learning. We aim to teach children how to grow into positive, responsible people, who can work and co-operate with others while developing the drive, knowledge and skills to become life-long learners.
Pupils are always learning to talk about their learning. The curriculum provides opportunities to participate in and respond positively to artistic, musical, sporting and cultural opportunities. School councillors are elected through a voting system and in Year 4, pupils learn about British democratic principles.
